5/1 - Samantha Manning, CMG Washington

YOU DECIDE 2024 coverage continues, as former President Trump will use today's break from his "hush money" trial to rally voters in the battleground states of Wisconsin and Michigan. But he will need to be careful of what he says, as yesterday Judge Merchan held him in contempt of court, and threatened him with jail time if he continues violating a gag order. WOKV's Samantha Manning looks at what Trump is likely to address.

5/1 - Spotlight: Florida 6-week Abortion Law

WOKV's legal and political analyst Rick Mullaney from the JU Public Policy Institute reviews the legal and political ramifications of Florida's newly enacted abortion restriction law. Since the Supreme Court's Dobbs decision overturned abortion protections from the infamous Roe v Wade case, abortion access has been a political hot topic, with conservatives pushing from restrictions or outright bans, and liberals seeking protected women's health rights including abortion. Florida's new law faces a referendum vote in November, drawing campaign attention and potentially increasing voter turnout.

5/1 - Jared Halpern, FOX News

YOU DECIDE 2024 coverage continues, as President Biden campaigns in Delaware today, and former President Trump is also making campaign stumps with today's break in court proceedings. Vice President Harris is also campaigning today in Jacksonville, where she will speak about the abortion restriction laws Republicans are pushing. Today marks the start of a new law in Florida that restricts abortions to the first 6 weeks of pregnancy, but there will be a ballot referendum in November that could reinstate the previous 15-week limit as a state constitutional right.
