MILLION DOLLAR CITIES - Many first-time homebuyers are struggling to break into the housing market. Affordability remains a big challenge, however that hasn’t stopped home values from climbing. The United States now has a record-high number of cities where the typical home is worth over $1 million. Data from Zillow shows the number of “million dollar" cities increased significantly during the last year, from 491 to 550. Florida, Massachusetts, Washington, South Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania all topped the list. Experts say the rise is in part because of the demand for homes outside urban areas since the pandemic.
